Who is this course for?
If you are at least 12 years old, and have completed the PADI AOWD (or similar certification), you can take the PADI Rescue Diver course. Until now you and your own safety, were the focus of your diving courses. You were previously taught how to deal with different situations, emergencies as well as life threatening events. The PADI Rescue Diver course changes the focus from you, to your fellow diver. The Rescue diver course teaches you how to help other divers, and the protocols to follow when there is a threat to their health or life.
What will we teach you?
During this course, you will primarily engage in different scenarios such as diving accidents, self help and helping fellow divers. An important aspect of the course has to do with planning evacuation routes in the event of a diving emergency, as well as leading the rescue operation. You will learn how to identify and manage the stress of divers. You will learn how to rescue a panicked diver or an unconscious diver.
**The theoretical part of the course can be done at home via e-learning or with our instructor, utilizing the ”PADI Rescue Diver” textbook.
